Charles and the family return to Philadelphia where Charles is bombarded with money offers for Warrior’s stud services and a race horse trainer that insists that Charles continues racing Warrior or turn the horse over to him to promote.
The known horse trainer convinces Charles to transfer his prized stallion to Virginia for training for a famous upcoming horse race at Saratoga, New York.
Charles travels to the Illinois and Wisconsin border where a man has fired on his workers, and one of the men have been severely wounded.
Bernard is having trouble at the hotel bar with a ruffian that is threatening his business, and when Bernard confronts the man, Bernard is beaten and injured.
Charles encounters many obstacles in this episode, and spends time at the U.S. Marshal headquarters in Chicago and meets U.S. Marshal Bekins.
