Sulk
Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition of this 1982 album. The Associates Sulk is a unique post-punk amalgam of '80s pop and classic cabaret sounds that is capped with the unmistakable, sometimes otherworldly, vocals of Billy MacKenzie, and features their biggest hits 'Party Fears Two' and 'Club Country'. Disc One features the original LP newly remastered from ¼ tape. Disc Two includes five previously unreleased tracks. including two produced by John Leckie (Radiohead, The Stone Roses). The booklet features liner notes by Martin Aston and a variety of original promotional material, previously unpublished photos, and memorabilia from Associates Alan Rankine's and Michael Dempsey's personal collections. Formed in in 1976 by Billy McKenzie and Alan Rankine, The Associates made lavish, genre-bending cabaret pop and Sulk (1982) is their crowning achievement.
