Isnâ€™t 32 pages too much to spend on one mechanism? Maybe. But I wanted to establish a good basis on how OTF works. It is important to get a good foundation to build on. And much of the book will build on this. DA OTF is a very important mechanism. And we are going to beat it to death! Because this stuff is fun!
This eBook is just a short sample of an up coming book. Not the whole book. Just a few chapters of a book which includes some OTF and miscellaneous stuff.
For all my fellow knife mechanism-ers I extend a welcome hand to once again follow me into an exploration of the mechanical mysteries on the inside of pocket knives. I offer this for your consideration as another adventure similar to my previous book Knife Mechanisms just for the fun of it! For you, whom have derived benefit from reading that book, I would expect it likely that you shall discover some things of interest in this eBook, as well as the future entire book. And for your prior support I humbly thank you. Iâ€™m glad we can share the knife mechanism fun.
And for those, few, who got the first book and asked â€œWhat the heck! No OTF?â€ Iâ€™m happy to say â€œHere it comes for you!â€ Hey, yaâ€™ll, I crammed in as much info into that first book as I could. I wrote from the heart. For info. For insight. Not to be a dull textbook. For fun! We did have fun. We did learn. Since there has never been a mechanism book before I was fearful it could be too technical for some, perhaps too light for others. So I put out a â€œsampleâ€, the short Kindle ebook.
And for those that may have thought â€œWhat, the ebook is only part of the book! Is this a gyp?â€ No, I hope I made that clear. Believe or not I wanted to list the first ebook for free! But it's better to go through the system. So thatâ€™s where the price came from. The same thing for this ebook. Speaking of money, all the money from this ebook getâ€™s donated to wounded veterans. â€œYou mean all the profits get donated?â€ No, I mean ALL money. So I eat the cost of the typographer and computer nerds who set it up, and whatever. So you wonâ€™t feel gypped. But it still ainâ€™t much money so feel free to donate to this or your favorite charity, please. I consider this mainly a promo, so Iâ€™m not interested in profit here anyway. Thatâ€™s what I mean by sample.
People are for ebooks that are 30 pages 4x7 inches. This is 54 pages, 8.5 x 11 inches! Illustrated! Not a bad deal in comparison.
Some folks just love e books! So they will be happy for the ebook format and Iâ€™m happy to help them.
Unhappy am I that I couldnâ€™t include ALL known knife mechanisms in the first book. There are many hundreds of mechanisms. And new ones on the way. You canâ€™t get every obscure mechanism into one book. OTF in the next book, I got it covered. Trust me on that. This ebook is a mish-mosh of stuff I am working on. This might be the toughest chapter. But it should be fun! Take the challenge! And the finished book will be bigger and better. That book might get put into a ebook someday also. I am always looking out for you. Donâ€™t ever forget that. If you donâ€™t like the style of this ebook, you likely wonâ€™t like the full book either and so you can avoid that discovery and expense.
