3000 Grit for Fine Honing
This fine 3000 grit can put an edge on a tool or knife that exceeds just about any commercial edge you'll find. This grit is very fine and sharpen very slowly. This is to be used after you've created an edge with more coarse grits.
8000 Grit for Razor-Sharp Polishing
The 8000 grit is perfect for finishing and polishing the edge. A knife or tool that has been sharpened to this stage will work for any task required.
How to use the knife sharpening stone?
1. Soak the whetstone in the water for about 5-10 minutes, and then put it on a steady platform.
2. Use the 3000 grit side to repair the damaged serious edge. Hold the knife at 10~30 degree angle gently, and push the knife on the surface of whetstone with gentle pressure. Sharpen the knife about 10-15 minutes until the edge is smooth enough.
3. Polish the tiny flaws edge for 10 minutes with 8000 grit side. Repeat step 2 with more gentle pressure and keep some water on the stone to stay cool at the same time. It is the best to use the whetstone once a week.
4. After honing the knife, clean the whetstone with some water and keep it dry.It is better to wash it with a wet cloth or soft brush.
