It is equally effective with digital natives or those new to technology. Skill-specific units present thoughtfully organized, experiential assignments that increase learner confidence. Each unit produces print or digital materials for practical use. Assignments explore Google and Microsoft applications, video creation, Web 2.0 innovations, eFolio construction, blogging, podcasting, mobile computing, and more. Learners follow the step-by-step instructions provided and are linked to additional resources via embedded QR codes and URLs. Detailed assessment tools in each unit increase learner understanding and allow for efficient evaluation. Technology for Fitness and Wellness Professionals was created to accompany a course called “Technology for Wellness,†taught by the author at Slippery Rock University. This handbook evolved from the author’s previous publication, Technology for Physical Education Teacher Education (2012, 2014) which accompanied a course of that name. Like the successful curriculum out of which it grew, Technology for Fitness and Wellness Professionals prepares students to become 21st century leaders in their fields.
