Question: Do you know what year the curly handset cord was invented?
Answer: In the 1950's the straight handset phone cord, presented a few challenges to consumers, for one the receiver cord tangle something furious due to the electricity/current, (47 Voltz), traveling through the cord from wall connection to the handset/receiver.
For another, because static electricity formed around the outside length of the cord it made it troubles-some to keep the long cord straight. So, the design for the first Curly Telephone Handset Cord was in the 1950's.
Question: Do you know who designed the Trimline Phone?
Answer: Donald Genaro, from Hoboken New Jersey.... One of his most notable design is the compact 1965 Trimline Phone which was designed for AT&T. It still heads the list of modern corded telephone designs.
