This Super Premium Gourmet Hulless Popcorn is tender, white, and virtually hulless. It's also amazingly delicious.
Virtually Hulless = very few hulls compared to "regular" popcorn. In our Tender Pop Hulless variety, the "hull" is very thin and in most cases shatters when it pops. Any hulls that might remain on the popcorn after popping are thinner, finer and easily chewed and broken down further when you eat the popcorn.
Please note that there is no 100% hulless popcorn. All popcorn must have a hull/skin (in technical terms it is the pericarp) in order to hold in the moisture/steam that is generated when cooking. It's the steam buildup that creates the pressure inside the kernel that causes the popcorn to pop.
Popping method also plays a large part in how many hulls remain. If the oil/heat combination is not correct and the popcorn pops at a lower than optimal temperature, then many of the hulls will stay on the popcorn rather than shattering and breaking off. Tender Pop has a delicate crunch and is mildly sweet compared to the more "corny" flavor of our Movie Pop and Mushroom Popcorn. This gourmet hulless white popcorn also pops up larger than other hulless popcorn varieties.
Tender Pop Hulless Popcorn is loved by all, but is an especially excellent choice for popcorn fans who wear braces or dentures, or who otherwise need to avoid hulls.
We don't recommend Tender Pop for caramelizing or other candy coating (although it's great for popcorn balls and drizzled or shake-on seasonings) and instead encourage you to choose our Mushroom Popcorn for that purpose.
