Stone Temple Pilots released their debut album in September 1992. The album, Core is now a classic, featuring such music/video favorites as "Sex Type Thing," "Plush" and "Wicked Garden."
Purple, the band's second album, was released in June 1994 and entered the Billboard Top 200 at #1, where is remained for three straight weeks. Purple contains giants such as "Vasoline," "Interstate Love Song" and "Big Empty."
Tiny Music...Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop was released in March 1996 and debuted Top 5. The band's third album includes the hits "Big Bang Baby" and "Lady Picture Show."
1997 and 1998 saw the Pilots involved in various extracurricular activities: Talk Show, a project that includes Dean and Robert; and Scott released his solo album 12 Bar Blues.
October 1999 saw the release of No. 4, which yielded the hits "Down" and "Sour Girl." Shangri-La Dee Da followed in 2001.
RIAA certifications include: Core 7x-platinum; Purple 5x-platinum; Tiny Music... Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop 2x-platinum; No. 4 1x-platinum. Other honors for the band over the years include a Grammy for "Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal" for "Plush," two American Music Awards, one Billboard Music Award, two Billboard Video Awards, and an MTV Video Music Award.
