The Dental School Admissions Guide I Wish I Had: How I did it with a low gpa
I began writing this book approximately a month after I was accepted to dental school. I understood how fortunate I was to be allowed to step foot in that building every day, and I will never take that privilege for granted. When the thought about applying to dental school first entered my mind, I soon realized that there were literally no books available providing anecdotal experiences of the process I was about to embark on. So, I decided to write this book. Whenever I had spare time from class, lab or clinic, I found myself writing. If you are reading this book, I am sure you are in the same position that I was in a few short years ago, or you may be interested in how the whole process works. In any event, I am happy you are here. Gaining admissions to dental school is a highly stressful and may consume your every thought. The anxiety of not knowing where you stand in the eyes of the admissions committee will surely wear you down emotionally and physically. How do I know this, because I had it happen to me…twice. In this book, I outline my leading up to my decision to apply to dental school. Then, my focus changes to explain the mistakes I made during my first application cycle and the remarkable change inside me that motivated me to enhance every aspect of my application. Use this book to motivate you, and use it to get into dental school. Your experiences are unique, and you may be in a worse situation now then I was then. I currently am a dentist, and I work for my mentor. I intend to buy his practice in the year to follow. IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!
***As a bonus, at the very end of the book, I provided 7 interview secrets that I had learned from serving on an admissions committee for 2 years.
