Philip Glass's score for Neil Burger's film The Illusionist was widely acclaimed upon its release in 2006. The music for the film, set in 1900s Vienna, evokes the feeling of mystery and wonder that surrounds the famous magician Eisenheim (played by Edward Norton) and it is performed brilliantly by the Czech Film Orchestra under the baton of Michael Riesman. As part of the ongoing series From the Philip Glass Recording Archive, this reissue from Orange Mountain Music aims to keep this brilliant score in print with this completely remastered edition from the original tapes.
