Best known for his Grammy Award winning composition for guitar, "Classical Gas," Mason Williams played a large role in television and music circles in the late 1960's. An accomplished musician, writer and poet, Williams also received an Emmy Award for his work as a comedy writer on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Originally recorded in 1964, "Listening Matter" combines William's love of comedy, poetry and music. Williams is well known for his "Them Poems" series in which he sets comedic poems to music with funny titles like "Them Moose Goosers" (popular on Dr. Demento's radio broadcasts) and "Them Toad Suckers".
