The Mainichi Daily News is the online English edition of Japan’s highly respected and trusted Mainichi Shimbun newspaper, which has a history of 137 years and a daily circulation of 4 million copies for its morning edition, and 1.5 million for its evening edition. The Mainichi was the first of Japan’s major newspapers to produce an English edition, starting in 1922.
