The New Zealand Auto Knitter: Fundamentals of Circular Sock Machine Knitting on the NZAK
The New Zealand Auto Knitter: Fundamentals of circular sock machine knitting on the NZAK provides detailed illustrated instructions for the assembly, adjustment, use and care of the NZAK machine made by New Zealand Auto Knitter Ltd. This machine style was inspired by the British Beehive knitter and is similar in most aspects of design to other foreign and domestic Auto Knitters. A small section of this work provides information about the Quiknit, also from New Zealand Auto Knitter Ltd. In clear and specific language, this book explains many basic techniques and concepts of hand-cranked circular machine knitting. It also includes tips for troubleshooting this style of metal machine. It does not cover contemporary plastic circular knitting machines. The core material for this text was taken from Jacquie Grant's "NZAK: New Zealand Auto Knitter Instructional DVD #1" released in 2007. Ms. Grant's unique voice and style have been preserved while the information has been edited, revised, updated, expanded, illustrated, and transferred to print. Extensive new material has been added by CSM authority and teacher Lucy E. Best.Color photographs, glossary, appendices, and index are included. Please note that some photos have become slightly pixelated in this second print version of this popular title. This should not obscure any critical details.
