His name is Dane McGraw, but heâ€™s known as â€œThe Player.â€ He was called that even before I became his very first girlfriendâ€”back in MIDDLE school. But that was years ago. Heâ€™s forgotten all about me â€¦ right? Well, thatâ€™s what I thought when I started spreading my lies about usâ€”on the Internet. He moved away and heâ€™s all famous now, so I thought he would never know that I made him my new fake boyfriend. And said he adores me and brings me flowers.â€¦ Until he shows up at my doorâ€”with flowers (!!) â€¦Um?
The explanation:
When my boyfriend dumped me for my total archenemy (Nina), to save face I posted on my blog that I didnâ€™t care because I had a date to our school dance with The Player. I only did that because I knew my archenemy (Nina) wanted him, and my ex-boyfriend (Back-stabber) was jealous of him. Two birdsâ€”one stone. However, for some reason no one believed my crazy lies about The Player. Probably because, you know, they were crazy liesâ€”about The Player. But whoa! Here he is, at my door for the danceâ€”The Player. With that same olâ€™ player grin that has always played with my heart. Yikes! I need a playerâ€™s manual â€¦ and an ambulance. â€˜Cause Iâ€™m swooning for the player boy that broke my heart. AGAIN!! (Help!)

THE PLAYER is a standalone teen novel (200 pages). No book needs to be read before it or after it. There is no swearing in the book.

This book also includes a story called: â€œAlly Has Amnesia.â€
(It is an hour readâ€”two at the most.)

Note about the novel, The Player: Parts of it are from Melanie Marksâ€™ book Fake Boyfriend Wars, which is another book about the characters in this book. But since a large portion overlaps this book, even though the storylines are different, it is not recommended that you read both versionsâ€”as large portions are the same. (Choose only one version.) This is a standalone novel.

Also included in this book, as a bonus, is a new story about Ally and Griffin. Itâ€™s called â€œAlly Has Amnesia.â€ The story can be read as a standalone, there is no cliffhanger and has a happy ending, however the story will have more meaning if youâ€™ve read Melanie Marksâ€™ book, His Kiss. (Itâ€™s only a dollar right now.)
