In 1953, two young men Sydney Burns and Irwin Valentine are two guys who home from college for the summer. Both bright and well very geeky. A new store ran by two women opens in their small town. It sells all kinds of stuff. One day out of boredom Irwin goes inside. Where the attractive saleswoman talks him into a buying a ring that will help him seduce women. He buys the ring not believing the story but has no idea that will not only change his life but also his best friend's.
