The Royal Priesthood
This is the first book written by Carl Ketcherside following the radical change in his understanding of spiritual fellowship and the unity of all believers which began in 1951. The Royal Priesthood, first published in 1956, followed by a revised edition in 1969, examines the biblical teaching of the priesthood of all believers.
The first half of the book traces the necessity of a priesthood, its nature, rise and development under the Patriarchal and Jewish Dispensations, its culmination and perfection in this era which is styled "the ends of the ages." The chapters on "Priesthood and Ministry" and "The Royal Priesthood" will commend themselves to all lovers of restoration.
The second half of the book contains an analysis and reply to the Roman Catholic postulate of a special priesthood or clergy as set forth by Dr. John A. O'Brien in "The Priesthood: A Divine Institution."
