Other books that are devoted to â€œsavannah monitorsâ€ are unsatisfactory because the authors have neither benefited from seeing the animal in its natural environment nor had any experience of breeding the animals in captivity. Kept in the manner suggested by other books the lizards will, at best, survive, but they will not flourish.
