Note, this is NOT a politically correct novel. It bashes the current (Obama) administration and many progressive programs. Please don't read it and complain about the politics in the story.

The country is on the edge of another civil war. The war Jay doesn't want, quickly spreads to his shelter. It explodes on his farm, harming his extended family. Good friends are caught up in the war. Ricky supports the North, Tony and most of the families support the South. Jay is pulled from each side. He supports the personal responsibility and freedoms of the South. He's afraid a civil will cause too much pain and suffering. He's worried about fighting the mighty US military. He realizes he was right when the bombs begin falling on his shelter.

The Tennessee Governor wants to use the shelter as his base of operations which will push Jay and the families out. Both the militia and the army are building shelters similar to Jay's. Jay worries too many people know about his shelter. He and his friends agree to begin building a new shelter which just happens to be under Ricky's feet. The Tennessee Governor appoints Jay as his LT Governor before flying to D.C. to join a meeting of the Southern Governors and the President. Shortly after landing at Andrews Air Force Base, the Governors disappear, Jay and his fellow Southern LT Governors have to assume the office of Governor and hold the new Confederacy together while the President holds a town hall meeting to convince the North the South has to be punished. The President plans on a decapitation strike during his town hall meeting so he can announce the new civil war is over before it could draw blood. The South is ready and is able to strike back at the Northâ€™s most vulnerable underbelly by taking down the Northâ€™s electrical grid.

Jayâ€™s trying to hide the construction of another shelter, one hardened more than the current one. Ricky knows something is going on near him, heâ€™s spoken to Tennessee Governor Abrams, he knows the Governor doesnâ€™t agree with everything Jay stands for.

Book 5 of the series tells the story of how the country splits and the civil war that neither side wants. The war that each side quickly loses control of begins claiming Jay's friends and family. Jay learns building a country is very hard.
