Too many books on programming, are written by experts. For the most part, these experts have forgotten more about Pascal than I knew when I started this book in 1993, which was half way through my second year of undergraduate computing science. I wrote it in my 'spare time' thinking that I could writer a better Textbook that the one we were using - the proof is in the pudding - and when the computing science department printed the 1st edition in 1995 it sold well until the department changed their teaching language. I've published it for Kindle as it appeared in 1995 and if it seems dated, that's because it is - most of it was written 20 years ago using already old technology
Try the programs in this book, tinker with them, and experiment with the ideas by writing your own programs, this is the only way to learn a programming language
