Timeless Pies: 30 Vintage Recipes (Apple Pie Recipe, Apple Pie, Pecan Pie Recipe, Pie Cookbook, Pie Recipes, Pumpkin Pie Recipes)
I am extremely proud and excited to bring you my latest collection of vintage recipes. My goal from day one was to rekindle old recipes from tattered cookbooks long forgotten and provide a great selection of recipes at a price anyone could afford. I truly feel like Timeless Pies is my best collection yet. I would humbly submit that I have, in this small recipe book, given you an incredibly fun and diverse selection of classic pies that you and your family will love.
Before we get to the pies themselves, let me talk a bit about the crust. In the fast-paced lifestyle we all lead, it stands to reason that we would routinely run down to the big box store and pick out a premade pie shell to make our pie. Is that bad? No. Have I myself done it? Guilty as charged! Several times. But if you want to make a truly classic pie, you MUST have a homemade pie shell.
I started this recipe book off with three bonus pie crust recipes that will surely get the approval of everyone who takes a large slice of your special pie. What is more vintage than The Perfect Pie Crust which is only four simple ingredients; lard, salt, flour and water? The other two crust recipes, Classic Pie Crust and Vintage Pie Crust are variations on a similar theme. However, I can guarantee you that all three handmade pie crusts will make the difference in taste and flavor and put your awesome pie over the top.
If I could only share one pie recipe with you, it would have to be my personal favorite, the Southern Kentucky Pecan Pie. This is my mother’s recipe. It is hands down the best pecan pie you will ever make. Don’t believe me? Just try it and I guarantee that it will become one of your go-to pies at the top of your recipe list from now on.
I also have to tell you about Beth’s Best Blueberry Pie. If you are a fan of blueberries and all things that taste good, you will love this one. Sour cream, whipped cream, sugar, and so on mixed together and poured into a graham cracker pie shell with blueberry filling. Yum!
This little book is a treasure. It has all of your favorite pies in one small, concise guide. I have provided a Derby Pie, Sweet Potato Pie, Peach Pie and another favorite Chess Pie. You cannot go wrong with any of these recipes and your family and friends will enjoy anyone you choose. My book also contains three Apple Pie Recipes, Pumpkin Pie and another all-time classic Lemon Meringue Pie.
For those of you with a sweet tooth, I did not leave you out! There is the Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie, Fudge Pie, Chocolate Chess Pie and Banana Butterscotch Pie. The Double-Baked Chocolate Pie is also excellent. There are no dead recipes in this book. Each and every recipe I have put in this book was chosen to give you the most varied selection of pie recipes in the simplest and easiest format possible.
Timeless Pies is my best recipe book to date. I thank you for the privilege to allow me in your kitchen to help create these time honored treats. Enjoy the recipes, enjoy the fun and fellowship you will have making them, and most importantly, enjoy the pies!
