A famous opera composer during his time, Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1751) was a trailblazer in his era as he was one of the few composers who were self-sustaining, rather than being under the service of a patron or the Church. Today, Albinoni is most recognized for his instrumental compositions, sonatas, and concertos. This new release features his Sonatas, and is the beginning of a series on Brilliant Classics of the composers complete instrumental music. Performing these works is LArte dellArco, an ensemble well-known for their interpretations of historical pieces.
