TotalBoat High Performance 2:1 Epoxy Kits contain TotalBoat High Performance 2:1 Epoxy Resin and your choice of 2:1 Fast, Medium, or Slow Hardeners for fast wet out and a resilient finish that's noticeably clearer than traditional 5:1 epoxy resin systems-ideal for clear coating applications and hand layups that enhance wood's natural beauty or the interesting woven textures of carbon fiber fabric. The High Performance 2:1 system also cures with slightly better flexibility than traditional 5:1 epoxy resin systems so it's especially suitable for wooden boats that flex during use or with temperature and humidity changes.
The three hardener choices let you control working properties and cure times to suit your particular conditions. 2:1 Slow Hardener is best for warmer conditions and has the longest working and cure times. At 77Â°F, gel time is 40 minutes & full cure is 5 days. 2:1 Medium Hardener is ideal for most common applications. At 77Â°F, gel time is 25 minutes & full cure is 3.5 days. 2:1 Fast Hardener is for use in cooler conditions and has the fastest cure and shortest pot life. At 77Â°F, gel time is 10 minutes & full cure is 2 days. The 2:1 Hardeners are also compatible and can be combined with each other to adjust cure times further. Just make sure the final mix is always 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume.
Finish projects faster because you won't waste time doing messy surface wash-downs between coats, and our 2:1 system is especially ideal for shop and indoor use because the formula is low in odor and VOCs.
