This is the original Dala Horse from Nusnas, Sweden from the county of Dalarna. This traditional national symbol of Sweden is made of hand-carved wood and painted in the famous workshop of Nils Olsson which was founded in 1928. The wood is from the slow-growing pine forest around Lake Siljan, with only the best timber selected for carving into horses.
