Ron Eckerman founded Clearlight Enterprises, a concert lighting and production company. in 1973. He toured with and managed popular music acts of the 1970s, including Fleetwood Mac, Humble Pie, Loggins and Messina, Peter Frampton, War, and many others.
He was Lynyrd Skynyrd's tour manager during their meteoric rise to fame in 1976 - 1977. Airplane crash survivor, Ron takes you on a ride in this detailed blast from the past and reveals the rigors of life on the road with one of the world's most popular, talented, yet rowdy rock and roll bands. He describes the ironic turn of events preceding the tragic plane crash in 1977.
This book was originally released in 2011 by Eckerman, in memory of the friends he lost in the plane crash: Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, and Dean Kilpatrick.
This is an August 2014 re-release with photos included, in memory of Ron Eckerman. Ron lost a one year battle with acute myeloid leukemia in May of 2014.
