Abby Rutledge is a Progressive American History professor who despises the far right wing of the Republican Party, especially Donald Trump. She inherited a string of magic pearls from her grandmother, rumored to have been handed down from direct ancestor, Abigail Adams. While holding the pearls she makes an inadvertent wish that the South had won the American Civil War so that America would be free of the radicals on the right. When she awakens to find her wish come true, it is not the utopia of her dreams, but a dark world. She begins a quest to set the country and the world right.
