When it comes to the great pleasures of a warm summer evening, a comfortable rocking chair on the porch is right up there on the list. In fact, about the only way to make it better is to share the moment with someone special-and this handsome double porch rocker project is a great way to do just that. Built from standard cedar lumber as pictured (other species also work well), the rocker features classic Mission styling that looks great on any porch or patio. Mostly straight cuts and full-size patterns for the curves on the rockers and the seat make the project easy enough even for beginners. Construction is as simple as it is solid. Just trace the patterns onto wood, cut everything out, sand, drill pilot holes and assemble using glue and screws. To finish, apply oil, sealer, paint or stain as preferred. The chair measures about 44 inches long by 36 inches tall by 29 inches deep (at the rockers). About U-Bild plans: U-Bild plans are ideal for woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers of all skill levels. Unique "trace, saw and assemble" designs feature simple-to-follow patterns (like sewing patterns) that produce professional-looking results.
