Shorty was wounded and had lost more than a dab of blood. He was slouched over in his saddle as he rode into Holbrook, Arizona. In front of him tied to their saddles were the Collins brothers. He slid from the saddle in front of the sheriffâ€™s office. Tying Dunnie he told Jody and Jim to get down. â€˜Canâ€™t, weâ€™re tied to the saddle horn.â€
Shorty didnâ€™t untie the ropes, just cut them with his knife. They dismounted and walked inside. A deputy jumped to his feet. â€œWhatâ€™er you doingâ€™ with Jody anâ€™ Jim?â€
â€œWhereâ€™s the sheriff?â€
â€œGone over to Page.â€
â€œIâ€™m lockinâ€™ these fellers up for a spell.â€
â€œYer in the wrong town Master. This is Frank Collinsâ€™ town anâ€™ them are his sons.â€
â€œAre you gonna help er get in the way?â€
â€œOnly help Iâ€™ll give is get you the doctor, if you donâ€™t pass out first.â€ Out the door he ran as Shorty locked the boys up and sat down behind the desk.
