- FUNCTION - This 1/2" Barb x 1/2" NPT brass fitting is an adapter for connecting a hose to a male threaded pipe. Hose barb on one end and male NPT threads on the other.

These 1/2" Barb x 1/2" NPT male pipe fittings are made of brass, Which is considered more durable for heavy-duty use. Threads used on these nipples are NPT.
A hose barb fitting connects hose to pipes, typically has a male-threaded end which mates with female threads. The other end of the fitting is a barbed tube, which is inserted into a hose. You could add an adjustable hose clamp to keep the hose from slipping off the barbed tube.
