Commemorate your U.S.S. Arizona Memorial visit or experience with this die-struck medallion created by master artisans. Great as a gift or to honor a friend, family member or brother in arms this National Memorial medallion will capture the Arlington Cemetery moment meaningful to you in enduring, splash-minted metal.
Located in the waters of Pearl Harbor off of Oahu Island, HI, the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial honors and remembers the 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. The memorial has evolved over time to commemorate all military personnel killed in the Pearl Harbor attack and serves as a proud tribute to America's spirit and resolve to never forget the "Day that will live in infamy."
The medallion's obverse shows the memorial and the date the memorial was designated in 1962. The reverse shows the proud ship cutting through the water and the encircling text, "Lost with 1,177, December 7, 1941." Minted in deep relief using a special "splash minting" process, this coin is struck in a brass alloy and finished in antique bronze.
