Until There Was You (Harlequin Superromance No. 783)
Rickie Taylor has just found out that her grandfather had been a Nazi war criminal and that he may still be alive. She asks Reverend Jordan Browning who happens to be going to Paraguay if he would look for her grandfather while he's there. (she wants to bring him to justice- but she doesn't tell Jordan that- or what her grandfather did). Jordan is not a minister, he's part of an operation to get families out of Paraguay and set them up with new lives in the States. Jordan won't let her go with him and his partner to Paraguay, so she hides in the back of the plane and doesn't say anything about being there until their practically there and it is too late to turn back. During the course of the book they save a family and look for her grandfather all the while falling in love. He also helps her overcome her guilt in being related to a Nazi war criminal (once he finds out who her grandfather is, that is.) Rickie has a brother, Ted and a cousin Bernard who also ! feel guilty about it. Ted feels so guilty he breaks up with his girlfriend, Deborah. It turns out Deborah's pregnant, but she can't seem to get in touch with Ted to tell him. The book ends like that for Deborah and Ted, but then says there's going to be a sequel- 'Deborah's Son' that continues their story.
