Valhrona was founded by French pastry chef, Alberic Guironmet, in 1922 and named after his hometown, the Rhone Valley. A true artisan, Alberic remained steadfast on his philosophy by using best cocoa beans to craft his chocolates. The company continues to be very hands-on even today in their production process. They use only cacao from their own plantations in Dominican Republic and Venezuela in which their employees oversee. In addition, all their chefs are highly trained through their internationally-renowned pastry and chocolate schools around the world.
