King of New Jack Swing Al B. Sure! began his career singing back-up for Heavy D, but was quickly propelled to solo stardom with his 1988 multi-platinum debut album In Effect Mode. The smooth and sultry jam Nite And Day was a #1 R&B single that also had phenomenal crossover appeal, hitting #7 on Billboardr's pop chart. The follow-up, Off On Your Own (Girl), likewise went #1 R&B, as did Missunderstanding, from 1990's Private Times And The Whole 9, and Right Now from 1992's Sexy Versus. Once selected by Quincy Jones to win a talent competition, Al B. later performed for Q on The Secret Garden, a #1 hit from Jones' all-star Back On The Block album, another magical track featured on this sixteen track single-disc anthology of Boston-bred Al B. Sure!'s greatest grooves.
