Vintage Afghan Favorites Granny and Ripple Afghans (Vintage Crochet Favorites Book 2)
When you think about vintage afghans the granny probably is the first afghan that comes to mind and then the classic ripple. In this book I have put a new twist on these two vintage afghan styles. The four afghans in this book are my interpretation of these classic designs. The Lacy Ripple afghan is an easy V-Stitch pattern that is quick to make with a size K hook. The afghan looks complicated but it’s really a very simple pattern. A photo tutorial is included for beginners. Granny Waves is crocheted in the classic granny style shell pattern. This pattern is a very easy scrap afghan made all in one piece so there isn't any sewing together. Once you learn the pattern it’s a great afghan to crochet while watching TV not to mention using up those scrap yarns. I’ve included lots of photos for beginners. Hexagon Granny Ripple combines the granny and ripple patterns together into a kaleidoscope of beautiful color. The easy hexagon granny’s are first crocheted then they are sewn together to form rows. A granny style ripple is then crocheted to either side of the hexagon strips. Geometric Granny Stripe is a very simple afghan to crochet. This afghan is crocheted in colorful strips and then a border is added. The strips are then sewn together and a final border is crocheted around the entire afghan. This pattern is great for using up small amounts of scrap yarns.
