Nature Adds a Rich Dimension February 14, 2001
By Sarita29
Format:Audio CD
I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, but this CD is one of my favorites. I found the sounds of nature to be relaxing and soothing, especially when the crickets sang during the "summer" symphony and the rain softly pattered on the ground and trees during the "spring".
I thought that the nature sounds were an excellent complement to Vivaldi's already terrific music. They provided a good "roadmap" of sorts; the different sounds illustrated the things in nature that Vivaldi was trying to express in his music, whether it was birds chirping or thunder crashing. By hearing these nature sounds in the background, I was able to see how similar they were to the music, and I marveled at Vivaldi's excellent musical interpretion of nature. My appreciation for his genius was deepened.
Whenever one of Vivaldi's Four Seasons symphonies is played on the radio, I always wish that the nature sounds were in the background, because they add even more richness and depth to Vivaldi's wonderful music.
