This self rimming vent is also referred to as a drop-in or surface mount vent that sits or lays on top of the surface of an installed floor. It simply drops into the existing opening of your floor and is the preferred style for most exiting flooring surfaces. It can be used with new or existing hardwood flooring, laminate, tile or vinyl with the top rim of the vent neatly concealing the cut edge or opening of the finish floor. It covers the opening much like the standard metal vents but adds that perfectly finished touch to any floor covering. This vent is not recommended for use in traffic areas.
