This program ran from June 1933 through May 1949. WWII RADIO BROADCASTS documents two radio performances that Crosby fronted--the first broadcast dates back to July 6th, 1944 and the second to November of that same year. Both programs are heard here in their entirety; even the advertisements for Kraft Foods have been left in. There is also a lot of canned comedy/banter, as well as war bulletins, played between tunes, making this CD very authentic.Indeed, the record company (Laserlight) hasn't tampered with the broadcast one bit. Crosby gets his July 6th show off to a swingin' start with "Sno Qualimie Jo Jo," and kicks his November show off with the bluesy "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby." Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey are also featured on this release. The brothers' all-instrumental version of "Sandman," and their decidedly goofy version of "Exactly Like You" are especially heart warming.
