The American mezzo-soprano Irene Dalis sadly passed away in December 2014 at age 89 in her hometown of San Jose, CA, where shed founded Opera San Jose in 1984 following a sterling career of international proportions that included her time at the Met from the 1950s-70s. Featuring splendid sound, this unique live performance of Wagners Parsifal from Bayreuth, 1961 with Hans Knappertsbusch, finds Ms. Daliss Kundry teamed with Jess Thomas as Parsifal, plus a number of other stellar singing stars of time including Hotter, Neidlinger, London and Weber; truly a cast difficult to find nowadays!
