The aliens have arrived, they destroyed all of our satellites. We're without GPS, weather satellites, military communications, many locals lose their internet. We strike back, we destroy three of their five mile long ships. The aliens respond by stopping all electrical power on Earth. Even batteries don't function. The first and second world nations are shoved backwards 200 years.
Book 2 explains who the aliens are and why they came to Earth. We meet their leader and part of their race's history. Our secret base on the dark side of the moon attacks the aliens, using a small nuclear warhead they blow a hole in one of the large ships, allowing a platoon of US Marines to enter the alien ship. The Marines and aliens get in a shoot out. The Marines are able to kill and retrieve one of the aliens which they bring to the moon base, allowing humanity to see what the aliens look like. Meanwhile, Troy and his friends are learning how to farm and live without modern convenience. They quickly learn farming is much more difficult then they thought. Earth's population is rapidly decreasing, people are killing each other for a bottle of water. The aliens land to give their terms to Earth, in order for the surviving population to remain alive they have to agree to the alien's terms. Terms which shock Earth's survivors. The aliens are beginning to have their own problems, ones they didn't foresee before they left their home planet. We Knew They Were Coming tells the story of how Earth's population fights to survive while the aliens also have to fight to survive. An exciting second chapter in the We Knew They Were Coming story line.
