- MOUTHPART, LEG, WING, ANTENNA: The 12 slides are carefully selected to demonstrate the interesting parts of different insects that children can appreciate. For instance, the digging leg of a cricket is distinctly different from the swimming leg of a water beetle because of their different functions. By observing the slides, children learn to appreciate different shapes and structures of insect and relate them to how the insect moves or eats.
- OBSERVE, THINK, AND CONCLUDE: The set is also designed to instill scientific thinking to children. Firstly, the child is able to observe the parts. Then with the aid of postcards, the kid can consider how the insect uses the body parts. And finally, using the real beetle specimen, the kid can apply what he or she has learnt to draw conclusions about the beetle’s life.

Comes with 1 real beetle specimen. The actual type of beetle received varies. Students can observe the specimen directly under microscope or use it to prepare additional slides (preparation tools NOT included).
