Tucker Knox has already seen the worst that life can offer as he heads home to Michigan after a tour in Vietnam, but there's a new kind of war raging on the streets around Detroit in 1970. Tucker soon discovers a whole new subculture of street racing in the flashy, high-horsepowered machines that "make the scene" on and around the legendary Woodward Avenue. From Detroit's, 8-Mile to the Pontiac Loop, along Gratiot Avenue and along I-75 and its side strips, the throngs of 60s and 70s musclecars square-off for nightly duels. With the threat of a dismal life on a Detroit assembly line looming, Tucker must reach for street racing glory and only Kent Rager and his nasty 429 Boss Mustang stand in his way. If you long for the days when gas was twenty-five cents per gallon and cars possessed as much character as they did horsepower, let Woodward Avenue take you back in time!
