Review Outdoor Gear Axe Sheath for Gransfors Bruks American Felling Axe (Brown)

This sheath is designed specifically and exactly for the Gransfors Bruks (or Bruk) American Felling Axe. It is made out of full-grain vegetable-tanned cowhide, stained, and treated with Neatsfoot oil. The sheath is handmade in Spokane, Washington. The construction of the sheath starts with three pieces of leather: the main body of the sheath, the securing strap and the welt. The main body is folded over a welt that is inserted between the two folded halfs which prevents the blade of the inserted axe from cutting the stitch that is placed to hold the sheath together. The sheath is then hand stitched and rivets are placed at the corners to reinforce the body. The axe head blade, when placed in the sheath, is prevented from touching the rivets because of the welt. The retention strap is then secured with a rivet and a snap is added for easy on/off action. This sheath is built to last, and quality hand made in the USA (Spokane, Washington). Finish to the edges of the leather is applied for aesthetic appeal. The color of the leather may vary, and may be a darker or lighter brown. There may also be slight variations in the evenness of color distribution on the sheath. We also have an updated maker's mark stamp, please see last photo for detail. The makers mark in this picture is on a different product, but on this sheath, it will be stamped in the same location as the previous mark. The logo stamp is reads "ROG Handmade".
