The next release in cumbancha's new 'discovery' series, sarazino is the brainchild of lamine fellah, a musician, songwriter and producer whose nomadic life is reflected in the multicultural influences in his songs. A true child of a globalized world, sarazino's music draws on reggae, latin and african grooves, arabic spices and catchy, global pop to create an upbeat celebration of a diverse world. Fellah was born in constantine, algeria, his father was a career diplomat whose postings brought the family to spain, switzerland, & the african countries of burundi and burkina faso. The young fellah was exposed to many varieties of west african music, as well as reggae. His mother would listen for hours to arab-andalusian music, spanish flamenco, and popular french music. He also later lived in canada & currently calls ecuador home. Many songs feature the inspired vocals of revelino aguidissou, a native of benin, africa, who also lives in ecuador. Guitarist pablo estrella backs up a selection of guests including reggae legend toots [maytals] hibbert, and latin toaster blanquito man from king chango. The result of this musical m‚lange is a soundtrack to a true world party!
