Winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score, "Purple Rain" (1984) stars music sensation Prince as "The Kid" -- a semi-autobiographical portrayal of the artist. An original costume from the film, this two (2)-piece ensemble was worn by Apollonia Kotero as Apollonia, The Kid's principal love interest. The bespoke suit ensemble includes: one (1) black jacket with quilted-satin shawl lapels, a snap closure, and a flared waist; and one (1) pair of black leggings with stirrups at the cuffs. The items are in fair condition, with the jacket exhibiting brown accretions. Both garments show deterioration to material and have lost their shiny coating.

This ensemble is accompanied by a Planet Hollywood Certificate of Authenticity.
