About The Author Sean Black grew up in Scotland. He has written the screenplays for many of Britain’s best known TV dramas. In 2008, his debut novel, Lockdown, sold at auction in London. Since then the Ryan Lock books have featured on several bestseller charts around the world and have been translated into Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. To research his novels, Sean has trained as a bodyguard with former members of the Royal Military Police’s elite Close Protection Unit, spent time inside Pelican Bay Supermax prison in California, gone on numerous ride-alongs with the Los Angeles Police Department, undergone firearms training in the Czech Republic and Hungary, and ventured deep into the tunnels under the Las Vegas Strip to interview some of the city’s homeless population.
