This book reviews the history of Geez literature from its beginning during the Aksumite era to its decline in the seventeenth century, when the Amharic language began to dominate. Major known authors and their works are briefly remembered, and quotations are included to show the subjects the authors addressed. The booklet also includes a bibliography and index of names. It is hoped that this publication will serve as an engaging and adequate introduction into the subject, especially for Amharic speakers who may not be familiar with this literary tradition.
