Bonnie Pointer
Digitally re-mastered and expanded edition of this 1978 album including five bonus tracks. In 1976, Bonnie Pointer left the Pointer Sisters and signed with Motown. Produced by future husband Jeffrey Bowen, her first Motown album was a critical and commercial success. First single 'Free Me from My Freedom' reached the R&B top 10 in 1978 and was distinctive for being a Disco-era funk record with a surprising banjo solo. The album also featured the classic Motown covers 'When I'm Gone' (Brenda Holloway) and 'Heaven Must Have Sent You' (The Elgins). The latter was soon rerecorded in a Disco style, becoming a top 20 Pop and top 10 Disco hit and a dance classic. BBR. 2012.
