Witness Security Program something the American Justice System relies on, and every U.S. Deputy Marshal hates. While not all persons in the program are criminals a good many are. To the truly innocent it is a life safer. Then there are the very few who look at the Wit-Sec Program as a second chance. For Samantha Justice that is exactly what Wit-Sec was for her. For her it all started twelve years ago when she was just a teenager and on the run from Great Lake Crime Syndicate.
They say you can never go home. For Sam that was supposed to be the case. However that was twelve years ago when she died on the Courthouse steps of the Federal Building. Only back then it was Joey Capizeo who died on those steps. Everyone has a secret and Samantha Justice has her own. What none of her counterparts in the Marshals know about her is that she started life as a boy and the son of a well-known Mafia accountant.
Now, twelve years after that fateful day that started her on the path to the Witness Security Program Sam has come home. After six years of chasing down escaped criminals, wanted murderers, drug dealers, and just about every type of scum bag known Sam and her partner Robert â€˜Bobbyâ€™ Everbrite have been called in to protect a very young witness.
Her bosses believe that Samâ€™s unusual background will help in protecting the witness. The only problem is Sam has to go home. There is an old saying. It doesnâ€™t matter how far you run you canâ€™t out run your past. In Samâ€™s case it is a past that could very well endanger her, Bobby, and their young witness.
A political party that should never have come into being is gaining power and influence in the Midwest. Politicians are flocking to their banner. The Law, Order, and God Party promises to bring down the corrupt politicians in Washington D.C. and everywhere else when in truth they are the ones behind the corruption. A political party that is not above using illegal and unethical practices. The latest of which was the assassination of a political rival witnesses by the child of the local US Deputy Marshal in charge of the Columbus Ohio Office.
It is this witness that Sam and Bobby have been called in from the field to protect. However the witness has their own secrets and problems that haunt them. Can Sam reach the child and not only save them but herself at the same time. Or will this be the case that finally pushes Samantha Justice over the edge?
