It is an introduction to the club techniques of American Kenpo as taught by the late Ed Parker. The book covers basics a beginner should learn, which includes how to hold the club, the correct length it should be, as well as the correct stances and target areas to strike.Roy Travert started training in Ed Parker’s Kenpo at the age of fifteen. In 1989 at the age of twenty-three, he attained the rank of first-degree black belt. He was mentored throughout this period of his training by his instructor’s Graham Lelliott, Nick Norie, and Roy MacDonald. From his first-degree black belt through to his third degree, he tested under the board of examiners from the International Kenpo Karate Association, which included Senior Grand Master Edmund K Parker. His subsequent grades were taken under the tutelage of Associate Master of the Arts Tony Martin.
