This 2015 compilation features over one hour and ten minutes of Third Reich-era German soldiers' songs, performed by Germany's leading military- and civilian bands and choruses between 1933 and 1941. Included are rousing, textbook performances of many musical rarities of the period, including Landsknecht songs, Friderician soldiers' songs and marching songs specially composed for the new Wehrmacht. Also presented are some of the greatest march-time hits of composer Herms Niel, as well as rare vocal performances of works usually heard only in instrumental form. Performers include the KradschÃ¼tzen-Singschar und Musikkorps der AufklÃ¤rungs-Abteilung 3 at Berlin-Stahnsdorf, the Band and Chorus of the Leibstandarte, the Band and Chorus of the Berlin Guard Battalion of the Luftwaffe, the Music Corps of the Infantry Training Regiment at DÃ¶beritz and many more.
