This 2015 compilation features twenty-two German military marches performed by leading German military bands (under the direction of some of the era's foremost conductors) between 1932 and 1943. Included are many musical rarities, including a host of traditional selections not usually found in compilations of material from this period. Performers include the Band of the Regiment 'General Göring,' the Music Corps of the German Commandant of Paris, the Band of the Berlin Guard Battalion of the Luftwaffe, the Music Corps of the Infantry Training Regiment at Döberitz and many others. Exhaustively remastered with state of the art restorations, the CD is accompanied by one of Brandenburg Historica's trademark illustrated insert booklets with 24 pages of notes on the featured musical selections. Instrumental performances only.
